Work and Experience
Communications and Academic Support Coordinator - I am currently working at the Harriet L. Wilkes Honor’s College of Florida Atlantic University in Jupiter, FL. In just over 3 years, I have made a tremendous impact on the college’s social media and communications, organically raising our follower count over 1500 users and continuously improving our statistics between all of our social media platforms. Through consistent posting, original and curated content for target audiences, and community outreach, I’ve created a social channels that our followers want to relate to and be prideful of.
Lead Coordinator (Internship) - In 2020, I was Lead Coordinator of the sixth annual Southern Shakespeare Company Sonnet Contest. In this position, I was responsible for creating the rules and regulations for contestants, running the social media channels, marketing the events and deadlines associated with the contest, and judging each sonnet that came our way. We were ecstatic to have our largest submission pool since it’s inception, even with the obstacle of the pandemic.
Content Writer Internship - I worked with 12up.com in early 2020 as an intern content writer. In this role, I was tasked with writing short-form, eye-catching, informational and entertaining articles about numerous professional and collegiate sports leagues.
You spend a lot of time thinking about trying to leave your mark on the wider world, but you rarely think about the effect you have had on those in your most intimate surroundings. - Musa Okwonga
Outside of the office…
I’m always one to find new hobbies, diving into obscure video games and wholesome activities. As a former barista in specialty coffee, I’m often researching the best methods in making decadent bean juice (there is a lot of science behind it!). You’ll also find me at your local park playing 18-holes of Disc Golf, mostly with friends but sometimes as a necessary post-work decompression. Most of my free time, however, really consists of watching hours of soccer. Whether it’s catching up on the latest games, listening to endless soccer pods, or rustling through the analytical side of Soccer Twitter, I’m desperate to learn more about new talent and cling on to absurd hot takes.
